Tips - How to Remove Fat From Your Diet Nutritiously

Remove fat from your diet nutritiously, and you complete another step in building a healthy new lifestyle. A healthy, low-fat and nutritious eating plan can be just as exciting as the fuller-fat versions of your favorite dishes. Grocery stores provide such a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and low-fat foods that for the USDA’s proposed recommended daily allowances of each food group, diverse food choices give many opportunities to remove fat from your diet nutritiously.

Instructions

1. Create a low-fat tuna salad by mixing water-packed tuna with low-fat cottage cheese, instead of mayonnaise. In place of a tuna salad sandwich, scoop this salad mixture onto a rice cake, and add slices of tomato and cucumber, with a sprinkle of pepper.

2. Substitute applesauce for cooking oil when baking. Use a dollop more of applesauce than the called-for measure of oil in cake and cookie recipes.

3. Try a low-calorie, low-fat fruit yogurt, instead of milk, on top of a wholegrain breakfast cereal, such as granola.

4. Use 1 percent milk instead of milk with higher fat content, such as 2 percent and whole. Use it for all of your cooking and drinking needs.

5. Add a side dish of avocado to your meals. Or place a slice or two of avocado on a sandwich instead of mayonnaise.
